Covid-19 Entry Requirements:  UPDATE

From Monday 28 March 2022 we are relaxing our covid-19 entry requirements.  We will no longer ask to see an NHS registered Lateral Flow Test, as we know that access to free tests will soon be ending.
However, please do not attend our classes if you are feeling unwell, have a sore throat or cold-like symptoms.  For the present time, we will continue to scan your temperature on arrival.

Our current entry price is £7.50 (pay on the door)

We are open from 8:00pm - 10:45pm

WELCOME!

Our modern jive dance classes are held every Tuesday night at Waterlooville Community Centre, where jive enthusiasts of all ages and abilities join us for a fun-filled evening of jive to music, provided by our resident DJ,

Andy Kale.  Our freestyle evenings provide you with the opportunity to request your favourite dance tracks.

You don’t need to come with a partner and you will soon meet lots of new friends.  Don’t worry if you miss a week – just turn up the next week and carry on with the next lesson.

Dancers of ALL LEVELS are welcome, whether you are a complete beginner, intermediate or advanced.  We hold a beginner class at the start of each evening and after a 30 minute break for freestyle dancing, we demonstrate three intermediate moves and encourage all dancers to take

part in order to help build confidence to progress.

We can provide some extra 1-2-1 coaching for beginners and throughout the evening some crew members may be available to help you to practice your moves on the dance floor!

We have many regulars who come along and support us every week.  The majority of our dancers live in and round Portsmouth and neighbouring areas, although quite a few are willing to travel from much further afield to be with us.  Please do come and join us – we would LOVE to see you!

PLEASE NOTE:  The bar is closed, however, tap water and squash are available.  Please bring your own cup or bottle.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Be sure to wear sensible shoes that support the foot, preferable with leather soles to allow for easy movement.

Do not wear shoes with soles that slip or grip (ie. Trainers).

STILETTOS ARE NOT ALLOWED (they damage the floor!)
